Alibaba has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with South Korean cosmetics company AmorePacific in an attempt to stop the sale and distribution of counterfeits online.
In a statement released on January 28, AmorePacific said the agreement would help prevent the sale of counterfeits on Alibaba and its subsidiaries and strengthen bilateral communication between the pair.
The agreement was signed at Alibaba’s headquarters in Hangzhou.
Kwon Soo-jung, an intellectual property counsel at AmorePacific, said the MOU would provide mutual interactions to crack down on counterfeits.
