Foley & Lardner LLP has added Jami Gekas as a partner in its Chicago office.
Gekas, who arrives from Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP, joins Foley’s intellectual property litigation practice.
Along with litigating IP disputes, she assists clients with clearing brand names. She also specialises in online rights enforcement, which includes the recovery of infringing domain names.
As part of her practice, Gekas counsels US advertisers on compliance issues arising from regulations laid down by bodies such as the Federal Trade Commission.
“Jami’s comprehensive knowledge of trademark, advertising and copyright issues will further the depth of our customised service,” said Pavan Agarwal, chair of Foley’s IP department. “She will serve as a trusted legal adviser to our clients facing complex brand enforcement issues and advertising challenges in Chicago and nationally.”
