The .luxury generic top-level domain (gTLD) has become generally available after completing its sunrise and landrush periods.
Open on May 19, the general availability stage allows anyone to register a .luxury address on a first-come, first-served basis.
The .luxury operator said more than 600 brands, including Chanel, Versace and Gucci, registered in the sunrise period, making it the most successful new gTLD sunrise so far.
Aimed at luxury brands, the gTLD will “quickly become the destination for luxury online”, said Monica Kirchner, chief executive of .luxury.
“With the beginning of general availability, businesses and consumers will be able to obtain a more attractive and relevant web extension to further define themselves within the luxury space,” she said.
