NetNames confirms Price departure to IFPI

08-10-2014

Brand protection company NetNames has confirmed that its former director of piracy analysis, David Price, has joined the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).

Price has left to become head of anti piracy research and analysis at the IFPI, an organisation representing the global recording industry.

According to his LinkedIn page, Price assisted right holders “concerned about infringement and online distribution” while at NetNames.

His recent projects included investigating and analysing a “major non-English social network” in order to provide immediate and simple access to “petabytes of infringing content”.

Haydn Simpson, product director, brand protection at NetNames, said: “David made a significant contribution to the continuing development of NetNames’ brand protection services and we wish him all the best in his future career.”

The IFPI did not respond to a request for comment.
