Sunrise opens for .poker gTLD

The sunrise period for the .poker generic top-level-domain (gTLD) has opened for trademark owners.

Managed by Afilias, which is the registry provider for .poker domains, the sunrise period opened yesterday (February 5) and will close on March 7.

A landrush period will open for the public on March 10 and close on April 9.

“Poker is the world’s favourite card game, and it is enormously popular online,” said Roland LaPlante, chief marketing officer at Afilias. 

“A .poker address provides instant identification with the game and is the perfect online space for everything from tournaments to poker products, poker news, and friends organising a local poker night.”
